'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Its Decision Time For Contract Offers

In an age when footballers run at the sight of signs you cant help to think that atleast one of our out of contract players will jump ship this summer.

Deano's comments in the Express and Star today are sturn but fair and I hope that they now show respect and loyalty to a manager and a club which have helped them regain their footballing pedigree and a club heading in the right direction.

Speaking to the Express and Star, Smith said "The players we have offered new deals to have four weeks before they have to give a definite answer'

"If they don`t decide to take it, I have told the players I may have other options who are cheaper.

'If they take their time, they may find I have brought someone else in at their position.

"It`s in their best interests to make up their mind as soon as they can."

Whilst we have offered new contracts to fewer players than in recent years some will say some that a big portion of the non movers are up there with the best in recent years and the muted responses are nerving.

Last season's leading goalscorer Will Grigg, Febian Brandy and Adam Chambers are just a few names still not committing to next season's cause.

I would expect that the news will start to heat up next week....
