Grigg Ruled Out For Northern Ireland
Walsall leading goalscorer Will Grigg was today ruled out of Northern Ireland's next two World Cup qualifying matches due to a hamstring injury sustained in Walsall's draw with Crawley on Saturday.
Grigg was set to start against Russia and Israel as a lone striker following his recent displays for Walsall. This is a blow to Will, Northern Ireland and Walsall.
Walsall manager Dean Smith said the injury was a slight hamstring injury and Will is back at the club now regaining his fitness. Smith also confirmed that Will should be available for Good Friday's trip to play off chasing Yeovil or Monday's home game with Coventry.
Walsall boss Dean Smith said: "Will is back with us. He had a scan with their medical people and we`re hoping it`s a grade one but it`s too risky to play in those two games.
"We`ll send him for a scan with our specialist but it`s not too serious. Hopefully he`ll be back for Yeovil but, if not, the Coventry game."
