Hector put in his best display in recent weeks on tuesday. However this has only mudded the waters for many Saddlers faithful. For many the crux of the arguement is that as a striker his job is to put the ball in the net and so far one goal in pre season isn't the return we are seeking. This is putting too much pressure on Martin Butler to keep scoring goals.
I must nail my colours to the mast and state that I am a Hector Sam Fan, and like a lot of the hold up play and linking play that he does. However he does desperately needs a goal and I feel that this lack of goals is playing on his mind. When (not if) he gets one others will follow. My one word against him involves his lack of pace which seems to mean he isn't in box box enough!
So when asked the vital football crowd gave Hector the thumbs up 33% seem happy to let him continue up front. Whilst it suprised me that second choice was Alex Nicholls, who despite only a couple of brief outings has evidently impressed many with his pace and eye for a goal. James Constable the blue eyed boy of many Saddlers only had the backing of 13%, the same number that wanted to see a new striker brought. Saddlers fans however are not convinced that playing wide men upfront works with Tony Bedeau (11%) and Carlos Fangueiro (8%) failing to make an impression.
So it is over to you Hector, 'all we are saying is give us a goal'
