England Under 21's Build Up

England Under 21's Build Up

As we dont get chance to stage international football very often I thought we at Vital Walsall would check in on the build up for Stuart Pearce's men as the FA enter their 150th year.

A few players have already given their pre match talk...

Liverpool's Jonjo Shelvey told FA.com

'I've not played so much for Liverpool so I'd like to get some minutes under my belt.

'That's up to the gaffer here to pick me. Fingers crossed he does, and hopefully I get get a goal as well.'

WBA defender, Craig Dawson told the Bolton News 'We`ve got to start 2013 well and it begins tonight against Sweden'

"Everybody will want to play well, impress and book their place on the plane in June'

"In every game we all want to do our best and be involved in the next one, but at the back of everyone`s mind now is that Israel is approaching, so everyone will want to be in that squad for the finals'

Sir Alex Ferguson spoke regarding Phil Jones inclusion in the Under 21 side 'I haven`t paid much attention to it but surprised he`s in the Under 21s and not the full squad,

'Taking the step back can be hard to manage but he`s 20 and maybe he`s as good as the Under 21 squad are going to get'

Its geared up to be a sell-out night at WS1 and we urge Walsall fans to buy tickets quickly as there are very few still on sale.
