Walsall's own British Lightweight Champion and Saddlers fan Martin Gethin has offered his support to Saddlers Centre back Dean Holden's Meningitis Trust Fund raiser.Dean and wife Danielle tragically lost their 17 month old daughter Cici Milly to Meningococal sepsis, a type of meningitis last summer.
Martin has offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to any boxing fan as he has agreed to allow the highest bidder to go training with him down the gym.
.
The winning bidder will also recieve a boxing glove signed by Martin himself and the chance to have photographs taken with the Champion himself.
When approached by the Saddlers Supporters Trust Secretary Steve Davies, Martin was only too happy to help out. Davies said 'I have met Martin down pitch side at games at Walsall FC, he is a genuine Walsall fan and like every Saddlers fan they always step up to the plate and support our Charitable activities. Martin is no exception. It is actions like this that make me proud to be a Saddler. We are hoping that Martin's fantastic offer raises a good sum for the Meningitis Trust. Dean was knocked out by Martin's generous offer and was keen to speak to him and thank him'
It is likely that the auction will take place on e bay next month to coincide with the Bucket collection that the Holden family and Supporters Trust are doing at the Notts County game on 16th February.
