Smith On Pompey Win

Speaking to the Official Site, Walsall boss Dean Smith admits that there was only going to be one winner after we took the lead on Friday night...

'It was a really professional performance, when we got our goal, I could only see one winner'

He added 'We didn't start the game as well as I would have liked, but we passed the ball better on a tough surface as the game went on'

We have now won 4 out the last 5 games that has seen us rise to 14th place and currently sit 12 points clear of the drop and 7 points off the play offs. 5 more wins from the remaining 19 games will see us safe for another year. Hopefully this run will continue as we now start looking up rather than down.
