Walsall FC Ex Players Day

Walsall Supporters Trust secretary Steve Davies has contacted Vital Walsall to give details of an amazing day in March that's not to be missed!!

Saddlers Fans who read the Match Day Programme will have noticed that in Dan Mole's colunm recently the Club officially announced that the CRAWLEY TOWN game on March 16TH 2013 has been officially designated as EX PLAYERS DAY .

The Club and the Trust had agreed to stage this event earlier this season prior to the launch of the Walsall FC Former Players Association due to the popularity of the Ex Player visits that the Trust and Club have been organising over the last year amongst the Club, the Ex players and the fans alike.

When the Supporters Trust started organising the Ex Player visits we had just 8 phone numbers for players, we are adding contacts to our data base on a weekly basis, we now have contact details for just over 100 ex players on our database.

The Club are extending an invitation to ALL Former players, coaches and Managers to come to this game as guest of the Club.
Inveitably this will have to be co-ordinated and any former players who want to attend need to contact the Former Players Association and Supporters Trust Secretary STEVE DAVIES to book their ticket as the club will need to know names and numbers to allocate sufficient seats for our Old Boys.

The Newly formed Former Players Association will be heavily involved in this project and plans are in hand to arrange a pre match meal in the Bonser Suite for any former players who are interested in meeting up early and making a good day out of the event.

Walsall FC Secretary Dan Mole has been most supportive of this idea when it was put to him and I am sure it will be an enjoyable afternoon when we get everyone together on the same day.

With the Club celebrating it's 125 anniversary can we dream of getting 125 players to attend that day? It is a nice thought who knows?

If anyone has contact details for any former players or if any former players out there want to attend the match they should contact me STEVE DAVIES at walsall1888@aol.com or mobile 07799835388 to book their places.

STUART WATKISS will be our guest on Saturday, one of our own a very local lad who will be travelling from Hull where he now lives to be with us.

We will then take a break with Guest visits for the Holiday period before coming back with a bang at the Sky game V Portsmouth when Paul Hall and Fitzroy Simpson have indicated that they are happy to attend and meet both Saddlers fans and Pompey fans in the Saddlers club.

Everyone at Vital Walsall urges all fans to reward The Trust and The Clubs efforts and turn up for what will be an unforgettable day.
