'If It's Football, It's Vital'

News: Westlake becomes a Blade.

Young full back Darryl Westlake, emerged as a surprise summer target for Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson, and has become the Blades' first signing of the summer.

Westlake, 21 has signed for the Blades in a 2 year deal on a free transfer after he turned down a new Walsall deal but United will have had to pay the Saddlers compensation due to his age, although it isn't clear how much as Walsall were reported to be playin hard ball in negotiations..

The youngster was limited in appearances at the Banks' last season due to injury and fellow contract rebel Lee Beevers keeping him out, so it will be interesting to see how he gets on at Bramall Lane.
