Striker linked to saddlers rumour

Message Boards for saturdays visitors Darlington has linked Walsall with one of there players who maybe on the move. However we are not alone in be interested if you believe the rumour mill.

The striker in question can play out on the wing or up front, and was linked to the saddlers when he was released by Leeds united earlier in his career, only to join Darlington for the promise of first team football. Which he got starting 35 games last season but only scoring 7 goals. Following the arrival of a number of strikers in the summer he now finds himself pushed down the pecking order, the arrival of ex loanee Julian Joachim and Alun Armstrong has been the final straw. The striker has been subject to an agreed move to Macclesfield however he has turned this down to move to a bigger club...could that be us??

The name of the striker is Simon Johnson who is a local lad, comming from West Brom. He was a promising youngster but has never really fulfilled that promise, but it is understood he does have pace to burn, although lacking in height.

However these rumours are two a penny, the fact Mark Kinsella was at Stoke Tuesday has more to do with Darlo been our next visitors rather than watching Johnson.

Played out of position against us yesterday, we don't need another midfield player, Carlos Logans pace caused us trouble though.
