Talented 19 year old Florent Cuvelier marked his final loan appearance the weekend, with the all important goal that kept us up.
'Flo' has had a fantastic impact since signing on loan from Stoke, his arrival seemingly the catalyst for an upturn in Walsall's fortunes.
His flair, unpredictability and eye for a pass (not to mention the ability to pop up with the odd goal) gave us a much needed boost in the midfield at a time when most people were writing us off as relegation certainties.
Unfortunately for us, his loan deal came to an end after the Huddersfield game, and I am sure we are all sad to see him go, but Flo himself has nothing but compliments for the cllub and as he told the Official website, is thrilled to leave on a high.
"Everyone involved with the club can be do proud. Dean Smith has given me my chance and helped me start my career and I will never forget that."
When asked by Saddlers.co.uk about scoring the goal that essentially kept us in the league he said "I was delighted to score the goal that earned us a point, but the most important thing is that Walsall are staying up and I am Happy, happy, happy!"
VitalWalsall would like to thank Florent for his contribution, and wish him all the best with his future career.
