Walsall v Chesterfield: Preview

After last weeks dramatic 3-3 draw away at Rochdale, Walsall are back on home turf this weekend in a crunch clash with fellow strugglers Chesterfield.

A win for the Saddlers would all but relegate Chesterfield and strengthen our position considerably, but Chesterfield will be no easy ride (is there such thing where Walsall are concerned?)

Walsall have good news in the injury front, Macken, Beevers, Grigg, Taundry and Chambers are all fit and available once again, giving Dean Smith a pleasant selection headache with a fully fit squad.

Smith should see the game as a must win especially as Walsall travel to table-topping Charlton on Bank holiday Monday.

Chesterfield also have a fully fit squad ahead of the game although large changes are to be expected after manager John Sheridan described their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Scunthorpe as 'unacceptable'.
