'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Walsall v Hartlepool: A Pool fans perspective.

Hartlepool fan Kate Simons gives her thoughts ahead of this weekend's clash at The Banks' Stadium...

Is your season going as well as you expected so far?

To be honest I am quite happy with the way our season is going, especially after the run of defeats we had earlier in the season. As long as we keep picking up points, I think we'll be fine. We won't make play offs or anything.. but at least we won't be battling against relegation!

Highlights of the season so far?

Neale Cooper returning! Definitely a big highlight of this season. In regards to football, our 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough when Tony Sweeney scored in the 87th minute.

Who are your key players in your opinion?

Before their injuries James Poole and Luke James had been key players for us - providing pace, confidence and enthusiasm. Other than those two players, I think Peter Hartley and Tony Sweeney are key players for us - they're both Hartlepool lads, and that gives them in my eyes a lot more passion; they give 100% every game and refuse to give up!

Will you be attending the game?

Unfortunately, I won't be attending the game... But I will be listening!

Performance and score predictions?

We have been playing better since the return of Neale Cooper - playing with more passion and confidence. If we play with that passion and confidence, then I think we'll be hard to beat. I'm hoping for three points, but Walsall have the home advantage; so if we pick up a point I'll be happy.

A big thank you to Kate for answering our questions, and let's all hope for a cracking game this weekend.
