News: Update on Preston North End's Adam Barton

Young Preston midfielder Adam Barton suffered a worrying fractured leg during Saturdays clash with Walsall at Deepdale in a clash with Richard Taundry.

Barton yesterday underwent an operation on the injury which according to Preston's official site, went very well and they hope he will be back and available for selection by the start of next season.

The challenge with Taundry wasnt one that could be blamed on anyone, as it was a fair challenge but Barton's studs appeared to get caught in the Deepdale turf as he fell.

Taundry told Walsall's official site: 'I'd like to wish their lad a speedy recovery,' he added. 'He appeared to get his studs caught in the ground and went over. It's one of those things that happens in football; it was a 50/50 challenge and I hope he gets back to fitness as soon as possible.'

Vital Walsall wish Barton a speedy and successful recovery, it's never nice to see an injury of this nature.
