Having already stated he wants to bring in an attacking minded player how can dribble at defenders, although there have been delays in this player comming in, due to issues with injuries and suspensions at his parent club. Dickie has now stated his desire to bring in another forward. The only clue is he must be better than what we already have...good news to the Bescot faithful.
The reasoning behind the end for an extra striker is to increase competition for forward places. Hector Sam and Martin Butler have the two spots at the moment despite the lack of fitness and sharpness from Sam as he recovers from his long lay off. James Constable is an adequate replacement off the bench, but the question mark is could he lead the line for 5+ games if injury suspension or loss of form happened. We also have Tony Bedeau who can play upfront and the returning Alex Nichols could be back in 6-8 weeks. So the other possiblity is the need to have a different option, perhaps a more of an ariel presence perhaps. Although Dickie stated at the start of perseason that he wasn't necessarily interested in that type of player he has now seen League two up close, so a reapprasial could have happened.
For those of you on Andy Morrell watch, he is still at Coventry. With Nathan Tyson injured and facing a couple of months off Forest are rumoured to be weighing up a possible loan move but it is understood Andy and Coventry would like something more permenant.
