Dagenham awaits Saddlers in FA Cup clash

Dagenham awaits Saddlers in FA Cup clash

Saddlers will take on Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday in the FA Cup second round, with both teams needing a cup run to set their season alight.

Dagenham eventually overcame Bath City in a first round replay while Saddlers left it to extra time and youngster George Bowerman to beat Exeter City, also in a replay, for a place in round two.

Daggers were relegated from league 1 last season, they fell to a 4-0 defeat to promoted Peterborough on the last day to save the Saddlers and condemn themselves to the lowest tier in the football league.

They are struggling even in league 2 and are in 23rd place, having lost a dreadful 9 out of their last 10 games.

It will be an interesting tie as Walsall are facing a relegation battle for a second consecutive season and will come face to face with their previous relegation rivals. However, Daggers confidence will be at an all time low and Saddlers, riding high from their first round victory, will hopefully have enough to take them to the third round.

THIRD ROUND??

We shall see!

Up The Saddlers!
