'If It's Football, It's Vital'

New Skipper at Bescot

Speaking on the official site Richard Money has stated that he is yet to decide who will have the captains arm band for the forthcoming season.

We have used four different captains so far in pre season, and this has been a delibrate move by the manager. He has stated that there are a number of possible canidates and plenty of people with experience, Dean Keates, Chris Westwood,Clayton Ince, Michael Dobson, Martin Butler and Mark Kinsella to start with there are others who have done the job short term thanks to Merse such as Pead and Fox. So this year we are not short of on field leaders, however to make sure too many cooks don't spoil the broth we have to get the right man. Wanted a true leader of men a leaders leader.

In the same interview Richard gave indication that the addition signing for saturdays game now might not happen despite the rumours from inside Bescot. However despite the stumbling blocks that the prospective deal has hit, there is still a possibility that a deal will be done with at least one of the targets that are been monitored.

One unofficial source has stated he feels Walsall are still trying to get Andy Morrell to come to Bescot if not on a full deal then on loan since the prospect at the moment is fighting for his place at Coventry, spending most of his time on the bench and in the reserves. However the news that Andrews has been ruled out and the continued interest in Mcsheffry from Blues has tempted Morrell to stay put for the time been. Fact or ficton I don't know but it is certainly interesting.
