Last One: Port Vale Vs Walsall

Walsall travel to Port Vale today for the final warmup game before the big kickoff next week (KO1pm)

Port Vale play in league 2 and finished 11th last season.

The Saddlers have come off the back of 1 win, 1 draw and 4 losses in their preseason fixtures.

Saddler fans have become accumstomed to defeat, but Dean Smith has assured that the players are exactly where they need to be.

He told the Express and Star: "We know where the lads are in terms of their fitness. They have been tested on the heart rate monitors and we are where we expected to be.'

'Most days have been double sessions as we step up our training ahead of the start of the season, which is now almost upon us.' He added to the official site.

Saddlers have had a transformation over preseason and the team needed to get to eachother, but hopefully this will all come good and Walsall will finish on a high.

The game is almost upon us

Up The Saddlers!
