Hector Sam signs on

Hector Sam signs on

Perhaps one of the worst kept secrets was that Richard Money was pleased with what he saw in Hector Sam. However until the paper work is signed sealed and delivered there will always be nerves about someone coming in and snatching him from under our noses. Well it is offical Hector Sam is a Saddler, the 28year old having signeda one year contract with an option for a second year.

Having spent most of last year out of action at Vale Park with a broken leg Hector has appeared in a number of pre season friendly games, striking up a good understanding with Martin Butler. He has looked useful despite by his own admision not yet been 100% fit and lacking some match sharpness.

His ambition at Walsall is clear he wants promotion, and has endeared himself to the Bescot faithful by stating he feels the move is a step up from Port Vale despite the fact he has dropped a division.

Welcome on board Hector

Hector may well feature in tonights game at home to Aston Villa. However the signings have not finished yet as Richard Money still seeks defensive cover and there is the question of what happening with Adam Proudlock now Sam has signed.
