Andy Butler and Ledesma offered contracts!

Andy Butler and Emmanuel Ledesma have been offered a contract by Dean Smith.

The defender was at the centre of the Great Escape and much liked by the Walsall faithful, whilst mifielder Ledesma provided much firepower from the bench.

The official list came out today and alongside the duo, Matthew Richards, Jimmy Walker, Julian Gray, David Bevan, Jamie Paterson, Will Grigg and George Bowerman will be offered new contracts.

This leaves, as expected, Jonny Brain, Aaron Lescott, Clayton McDonald, Steve Jones, Darren Byfield, Paul Marshall and Tom Williams to exit the club. Sad news to let go to Byfield and Jones, both well loved at Walsall Football Club.

However, Alex Hickman stated yesterday that he was to leave the club, yet the official statement says that he is still under contract? We shall see about that!
UPDATE:The official site has been corrected and now states that Hickman and Sean Geddes have both been released.

Richard Taundry, Jon Macken, Oliver Lancashire (offered an extension), Manny Smith and Alex Nicholls are all contracted for next season.

Good news heading for the new season, the right players have arguably been given the option to stay. Details of contracts will be offered and discussed in the coming weeks.
