Fans need to be '12th man' says Saddlers

Fans need to be '12th man' says Saddlers

As spirits have rocketed around the Walsall team, the spirits of the fans has rocketed too.

A stunning 728 Saddlers showed their support to the Saddler at MK Dons and Smith has hailed their importance.

He told the official site: "Our supporters turned up in good numbers and gave us fantastic backing throughout..it gives the players a big lift to have that kind of backing coming from our supporters."

It is certainly a much better game to watch if there is rousing cheering around you and it does not go unnoticed by the players.

Ledesma added: ""For me, the fans are player number 12. On the pitch there are 11 players but the fans are very important for the 11 players. I like it when they chant and sing"

Saddler faithful became tired and agitated in the weeks leading up till Christmas but that is now firmly behind them. Their support will hopefully carry the Saddlers through and give them a better chance of survival.

Smith concluded: ""I can't stress enough how much of an important role our fans have to play in our quest to climb away from danger."

So, the Walsall faithful now have no choice but support their team!

Up The Saddlers!
