'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Smith hails Ledesma fluke

Dean Smith says that Ledesma was a one off spot after he was scouted playing for Brighton reserves.

The 22 year old has made himself a firm fans favourite since joining the club at the end of February. Not least that inspirational 38 minute display against Hartlepool to hurtle the Saddlers to victory!

Smith told the Express and Star: 'We had someone out there watching the game and he turned up. An agent`s phone call coincided with his name being put on my desk so we invited him in. He`s done fantastically well.'

Ledesma has seemingly got the football personality down to a tee hugely likeable but bossy and ambitious at the same time.

Smith insists that his special signing is what will drive the Saddler campaign forward.

He concluded: 'I`m not going to say everyone I`ve gone for has wanted to come, they haven`t. It`s important to me the ones who want to come are the right ones.'

Ledesma and Smith seem like father and son at Walsall, they just work. No doubt Ledesma will bring a special edge to the Saddlers in the coming games, just want Walsall need!

Do you think Ledesma your pick of the players for March? Vote for him in the poll!
