'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Richards raring to go for season survival

Matthew Richards has declared the Saddlers strong and ready to fight survival.

The Saddlers will a very rare weekend off as they will don't have a match untill a week on Saturday.

The hardworking 26 year old told the BBC Sport: 'I think everyone believes in each other, everyone's full of confidence and raring to go.'

He bagged his ninth goal of the season at the draw at MK Dons and credited the revival of the Saddlers on caretaker boss Dean Smith.

He added: 'we were a bit down in the dumps and in a bad run. They haven't changed too much, just made it a good place to be around, make us enjoy training and going out and putting in performances...that's really important, and the gaffer's got us going brilliantly."

The team took part in a special orienting team building exercise through the woods today which adds to the magic Smith has sprinkled over the Saddlers over the past few months. They now won't report back to training until Monday.

'But I think it's going to do us good, we'll recharge our batteries and come out all guns blazing.' Richards concluded.

Let's hope Walsall have a nice weekend off. Then there's little excuse not to bring home all three points next week and Richards can follow through on his word!

Up The Saddlers!
