Saddlers gotta do it: Walsall Vs Southampton

Walsall head into tonight's clash with Southampton knowing that even a draw will potentially propel them out of the relegation zone.

Saddlers now stand on equal points with Swindon Town and 3 points would mean they will go above them and just 2 points from 19th placed Yeovil Town. Elsewhere in the relegation zone, Bristol Rovers take on Colchester United.

Emmanuel Ledesma has been given international clearance and is in line to make his Saddlers bow tonight. He is likely to pair Matthew Richards in central midfield, replacing Richard Taundry.

Darren Byfield steps up his comeback after getting 15 minutes at the end of Saturday's draw at Rochdale and he is buzzing to get back into the playing campaign. He is likely to remain on the bench tonight as he gains fitness. 'Whilst I was excited about coming back, I know that I have to take it steady. It's all about being sensible and not trying to rush things.' He told the official site.

Macken is also likely to return from a back injury which kept him out of Saturday's clash.

It is no doubt going to be a tough test for the Saddlers, possibly the toughest of the season for them, especially with so much riding on it. Southampton are a force to be reckoned with and it was a year at the weekend that Richards fired Walsall into the lead at St Marys, only for them to be thrashed 5-1. The Saints currently lie in 5th place in League One and arrive at the Banks's off the back of 3 wins and 2 draws in February.

Likely line up - Walker, Butler, Williams, Lancashire, Lescott, Gray, Richards, Ledesma, Nicholls, Grigg, Macken.

So, it's a going to be a battle for the Saddlers but we pray for the Saddlers to get all three precious points. Saddlers are to have the game of their lives tonight, no pressure!

Up The Saddlers!
