Hallelujah! Hutchings and O' Connor leave Walsall

Chris Hutchings and Martin O' Connor have officially been given their marching orders today after the weekend's two disastrous defeats. Head of Youth Dean Smith will take control as caretaker manager.

The news will come to the music of many Walsall fan's ears as they have tirelessly called for the manager's head for most of the season.

Chairman Jeff Bonser and Chief Executive Stefan Gamble had no option but to sack them both after conceding 7 goals in two games and 5 wins all season, hope is fading fast of their league one survival.

An official statement from the official site read: ''Chris and Martin have both worked extremely hard during their time at the club...they have been professional throughout and have conducted themselves with great dignity in what have been difficult times.'

More news will undoubtedly come in as the day progresses.... keep it Vital Walsall!
