'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Richards: We'll bounce back

Matthew Richards has reassured fans that the cagey Walsall start is set to turnaround.

The midfielder, who has had an overall impressive start to the season, said that the visit to Rochdale will be the start of a better run of results.

He told the official site: 'We have a great opportunity to get our results back on track and start climbing the table.'

The Saddlers have won just two of five league games, scoring 6 goals. They currently lie in unlucky 13th place in the table.

The 25 year old added: 'The fact is we are creating chances...we have some good options up front and plenty of goalscoring ability; i'm confident that the goals will start to come and we can push on from there.'

The midfielder said that he is glad to be playing in the middle of the action, as well as the addition of loanee David Davis.

He concluded: 'I am enjoying it in centre midfield. It is nice to have a run of consecutive matches in the same position... David Davis is a highly rated young lad. To have that strength in depth in all positions is important.'
