HT: Walsall 1-2 Chesterfield

HT: Walsall 1-2 Chesterfield

Walsall have a hill to climb as they gifted Chesterfield two goals in the first half.

The first was let clumsily in by a sleepy Walsall defence allowing Jordan Bowery to nip the ball into the net. Reuben Reid replied for the Saddlers in a well taken goal. Chesterfield went again into the lead as the defence couldn't keep out Dean Morgan, who fired in from the left.

Notable absentees in the game include Ryan McGivern in defence, who is replaced by Darryl Westlake and Will Grigg up front, allowing a new boys partnership in Jon Macken and Reuben Reid.
