'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Saddlers land their man

Walsall have sealed the deal to bring Ryan McGivern to the Banks's Stadium.

The 20 year old left back officially joined today on a season long loan from Manchester City.

McGivern told the official site: 'It's all about playing as many games as possible and helping the club push for promotion. The facilities and structure is already in place here and hopefully success on the pitch will follow.'

McGivern will go straight into the squad for Saturday's final preseason friendly at Port Vale.

The defender was a product of the Manchester City Youth, but has spent time at Morecambe and Leicester City on loan.

Boss Chris Hutchings added:'He certainly has pedigree behind him and we are grateful for Manchester City allowing him to come here and continue his footballing education.'
