McGivern to become a Saddler?

Manchester City defender Ryan McGivern looks set to become a Saddler on a season long loan, staving off other interest from Crystal Palace and Oldham.

The defender had spent last season on loan at Leicester, and before that Morecambe, after limited chances at Eastlands. He is set join the Saddlers to secure some first team action.

The 20 year old Northern Ireland international was part of the 2008 squad who won the Milk Cup.

If McGivern arrives at the Banks's, it would make four new signings and the third defender. With the possibility of striker Deeney joining Watford after 3 bids already reportedly turned down from them, it comes as a surprise that a defender has been targeted.
