'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hutchings reassures as squad numbers are released

Chris Hutchings has stepped in to reassure supporters that new additions to the squad are to come with just 13 players being issued squad numbers for the new season.

Despite signing keeper Jonny Brain and midfielder Paul Marshall, the squad needs a vast boost, after 12 players released or left during the close season. The situation has been made worse by the surprise departures of Mark Hughes, Jamie Vincent and Rene Gilmartin.

Hutchings, speaking to the Express and Star. said: 'As much as you want to get it done these things takes time, we made serious signings in the first couple of weeks or pre-season last year. People aren`t in much of a rush to get things sorted out.'

The squad numbers are as follows:

1 Jonny Brain

2 Darryl Westlake

4 Clayton McDonald

6 Manny Smith

7 Steve Jones

8 Matt Richards

9 Darren Byfield

10 Troy Deeney

11 Alex Nicholls

12 Paul Marshall

14 Richard Taundry

19 Will Grigg

20 Sean Geddes

I'm sure all Saddler fans will be eagerly waiting news of new squad members. Let's make them good ones! Watch this space!
