'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Richards ready for new season challenge

Matthew Richards says that he expects the Saddlers to exceed their 10th place finish next season and is looking forward to a stronger division.

The 25 year old told the Express and Star: "Next season we`ll be even stronger. If the manager adds to the squad this summer we can be contenders,"

'It`s a young team..we`re still learning a lot so I think the more experience we have the better we`ll be." He added

The Saddlers host Plymouth, relegated from the championship, Rochdale, promoted from league two last season and Colchester, who finished 7th in league one last all the the opening weeks of the season.

"It`s going to be a different league in a sense there are a few different teams, but it`s just as just as strong, if not stronger, than last season," He said

The team get back into training in 2 weeks, as the pre season preparations will get under way.
