Under 21 call for Keeper
At the tender age of 18 our young keeper has been called up for the Irish under 21 squad. So its congratulations to Rene Gilmartin.
Having signed earlier in the season Rene has made four starts this season and numerous appearances on the bench.At the start he did look a little bit like a startled rabbit in the set of fast approaching headlights. However as the season has progressed he has shown the progress made under the guidence of Mick Kearns. He in fact managed a clean sheet in the game at Bescot against Yeovil in the FA cup.
So enjoy the experience Rene, and hopefully you can forefill the potential which Steve Staunton, Mark Kinsella and more recently Kevin Broadhurst has commented upon.
