Saddlers give Grecians grey awayday
If anyone was doubting the lack of goals - well we all were - Steve Jones popped to try and dispell these emerging fears.
The winger's performance rounded off a good showing from the Saddlers, who looked to pick up their first three points since the win over Huddersfield two weeks ago.
He smashed in a shot from the edge of the area on 29 minutes to reward some decent pressure, before adding another just before the half-time whistle after a darting run and strong shot from just outside the area to give the Grecian's keeper no chance.
After the break, Exter tried to come back into the game, forcing the substitute keeper Clayton Ince, who replaced Rene Gilmartin in the first half, into some catching practice.
However, after Duffy was shown a second yellow card, Troy Deeney managed to pick up a loose ball to go one-on-one with the Grecian's goalkeeper, who could only watch the ball roll past him to give the Saddlers a 3-0 lead.
Despite some late pressure from Exeter, Walsall held strong to claim the points and propell themselves up to 11th.
