On Saturday we suffered our latest relegation and with this comes bitter memories of previous encounters won and lost.
There isn't a set of supporters who doesn't like seeing there team throw a spanner in someone else works. Walsall in the past have certainly spoilt some promotion charges and promotion parties, as well as been the club to hammer home the final nail in a relegation coffin.
I would like to think that in general the Walsall fans have behaved in a respectful way. Such was the case when we were the club to send Peterborough down last year.
I would like to thank the Huddersfield Town fans for showing the same respect after last saturdays game. Of course there was some banter and the tease of going down (which we managed to out sing them at of course) but those that spoke to me as I passed through there ranks with my scarf worn proudly were a credit to there club.
In my mind this brings into stark contrast the memories which a minority of Rotherham fans behaved at our last relelgation. This in its self has caused bad feeling between the two clubs and even between some Rotherham fans who critisied there own fans actions.
So I wish Huddersfield all the best in there promotion quest, strange enough when they last did the double over us (and only time)they went up...an omen perhaps.
