Jorges Journey cont'd

Jorges Journey cont'd

In the absence of any games for Jorges club we look at some interesting facts that have come out over the weekend.

In Todays Sunday Mercury, they carry a story and interview with the man himself. The interest point for all saddlers fans is the comments made about his departure. Whilst it is well documented that Jorge was homesick for his native Portugal, it may come as a surprise that Jorge was happy to stay a Saddler until the end of the season.

So why did Paul Merson let him leave, is this just another sign that the addictive personality needed to be liked and viewed as a nice guy. Perhaps it was just bad management. Was it a plan that went wrong when Lee Peacock went to Swindon having been sure to sign for us (according to Merse) or was it another case of wage cutting by Mr Bonser. Perhaps we will never know for certain, but whatever the reasons the decision has played a major part in the collaspe of the saddlers since Christmas.

Anyway things are going well for Jorge, as the league table stands promotion is within there grasp.
