Walsall today gained one and lost another in a unusually busy day at the Bescot.
Defender Mark Hughes became the first summer signing to at least bring some stability to the back four....hopefully.
The 22-year-old moves from Northampton on a free transfer, and is seen as a replacement for Gezza. He can also operate in midfield and is comfortable on the ball.
However, on the same day it has become clear how bad things are behind-the-scenes when previously loyal youth coach Mick Halsall handed in his resignation to move to our rivals Wolves as the Assistant Academy manager.
Mick almost left last season, but he agreed to stay on at Bescot, which really does beg the question why he has suddenly changed his mind?
Chris Palmer has also revealed the true reason behind his departure to Gillingham.
He said that a 'low wage` was offered to him, which shows how much loyalty he has and how much money motivates him.
Also, CH has revealed that there are to be more signings this week. Could things be on the up? With Halsall`s departure, I doubt it!
