Walsall leaking players: I'm off! - Zaab

As if things couldn`t get any worse....they did!

Sofienne Zaaboub has become the latest player to leave the Saddlers first team, after he rejected the offer of a new contract because it didn`t offer him "stability."

The 26-year-old revealed that he felt the situation had not changed from this time last year, where he had been released from Swindon. He felt that if he signed another one-year contract, if was not offering him any guarantee over his future.

He told the Express and Star: "I have no stability and this is what I need - my life is not changing.

"If I am signing a year`s contract every year, then I can wait a few more months.

"I know I can play at a higher level so I am going to try, I can wait for better opportunities."

CH`s reaction about his and Chris Palmer`s decisions to leave the club was that of a man under pressure.

Speaking about Chris Palmer, Hutch told the Express and Star: "The way that he (Chris Palmer) has handled the situation is very disappointing.

"We verbally agreed a deal with the lad and it was just a case of waiting for him to sign on the dotted line.

"He started pre-season training with us on Thursday and indicated that he just wanted his agent to go over the contract, before he signed it.

"He then failed to report to training on Monday without informing anyone.

"We later found out that he had signed for another club."

He then reacted to Zaaboub leaving the club - he added: "I received a phone call late on Wednesday from Sofiene, informing me that another club wanted to take him on a three-day trial.

"He was told that if he did not report for training as agreed his contract offer would be taken away, as I only want people here who are committed to the club."

This has left us with a squad of 16 players, with six of them youngsters, which is not even enough to name a starting XI and seven subs for the first day of the season.

Is this a club in crisis?
