Deeney may go elsewhere - Agent

It has emerged today that Troy Deeney may be heading away from the Bescot in the near future, according to his agent Alex Black.

The 20-year-old has a year left on his contract, but has not been offered new terms to secure a long-term future with the Saddlers.

Black told Skysports.com: 'Troy has a clause in his contract which means it gets reviewed when his performances trigger certain aspects of the deal.

'He has achieved what is necessary to earn an extension, but the club haven't been forthcoming in offering new terms.

'Troy has 12 months left currently and is happy at Walsall, but he feels if the club can't determine his long-term future, then we will have to talk about where we go from here.'

Deeney was the joint top-scorer with 12 goals last season, with nine of them coming in the last 12 games.

Black added: 'We'll see what comes about over the next few weeks, but it's an uncertain time for Troy and he is keeping his options open.'

Let's hope that Deeney stays at the club and that the matter is resolved asap!
