Today the club announched that all ties with the formidable winger were cut as it turned out Walsall had been paying heavy contributions to keep his player registration. When the winger was sacked - six weeks afterwards - if Demontagnac had signed contact with another club then Walsall would have been entitled to a fee - but the Saddlers then took up the option to keep his registration until the end of the season in hope of recieving the compensation fee.
Despite trials with Crystal Palace, Charlton Athletic, Leeds United and even the lowly Southend United - Demontagnac has not been signed up, meaning with Walsall cutting ties the winger can move where he wants without any financial restrictions.
Ismale Demontagnac is maybe the most frustrating player ever to play for Walsall not only did he not come near his massive potential on the pitch he couldn't even do the business off it.
Thank you Ismael.
In other news Walsall will have been alerted to the news of the release of former defender Chris Westwood from Peterborough United. Westwood still lives in the Midlands and has not been linked yet. If the Saddlers are interested they will have to act soon as there is firm interest from his other former clubs Hartlepool United and Cheltenham Town where the stopper spent the end of the season on loan at.
