'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It's a Shrew In!

Yes it was Chris Hutchings at the first leg of Shrewsbury vs Bury and now he is being linked to various players on both sides.

Hrrmm...............

He could have just been catching a local game between two possible opposition teams next season? But let's look at some players on either side.

Shrewsbury

Luke Daniels - possible season long loan from the Baggies - as he seeks to make a step up and gain valuable first team experience.
VERDICT
Would depend on whether Shrewsbury make it to League One.

Ben Davies - born in Walsall played for Walsall's youth before being recklessly released to Kidderminster Harrier - went to Chester and has grown in stature and reputation at the Shrews - in recent seasons installed as club Captain.
VERDICT
Would only be a possibility if he was out-of-contract.

Nick Chadwick - on trial with Walsall at the start of the season - was turned down by Mullen and then by Graham Turner at Hereford.
VERDICT
Unlikely has failed to play half the season because of injuries and his goals can be counted on one hand.

Bury

Wayne Brown - solid League One/Two keeper has built up a reputation as a good shot stopper but lacks in height.
VERDICT - unlikely but not totally out of the question.

Efe Sodge - former World Cup Nigerian defender has showed he's still a stopper at the back - a proper hard man.
VERDICT - Efe is now 36 - he has more clubs than Tiger woods - very unlikely.

Elliott Bennett - onloan from the Wolves - took the eye when at Crewe Alexander last season - strange move to the Shakers but has struggled to hold a place in their team.
VERDICT - a strong possibility likely to be released during the summer - a move for the Telford born player would depend on Sofiene Zaaboub contract decision.

Phil Jevons - a confidence striker - who is on loan from Huddersfield after falling out of Lee Clark's plans. His place at Huddersfield will depend on who Clark brings in but on the bright side Andy Booth has hung up his boots.
VERDICT - if Huddersfield pull of the signing of Kevin Phillips or a striker of the same calibre - Jevons will surely be released - so a possibiliy

Andy Bishop - one of the best players in League Two, has scored goals in every season he's been at Bury - off course was released by the Saddlers as a youngest.
VERDICT - high unlikely even if Bishop is out-of-contract bigger clubs will out price Walsall on prospective wages.

Andy Morrell - sadly was on the bench but has been linked to Walsall a couple of times - had a proflific season a few years ago but those days may now be behind him.
VERDICT - more likely to stay at the Shakers or drop a division and go back to Wrexham.
