Deeney: We must show more next season

Troy Deeney has called on his Saddlers teammates to commit themselves to the club for next season.

Deeney was speaking after his side`s no-show against Oldham last weekend to end the season on a disappointing note.

He told the Express and Star: "We had the meeting yesterday and a lot of the boys will have to come back and prove they want to be here and show we can push on.
"If we`d finished 10th it would look better but we need to rebuild for next season now. We`ve shown we can mix it with the big boys so we`ll go from there.
"The season`s done and dusted now, we can`t change it and we have to pick ourselves up and go for next year."
All in all Deeney marked his break-through season with 12 goals to his name and will be looking to lead the line next season after Michael Ricketts`s departure on Tuesday.

Some of the players do derserve a pat on the back, but others really need to be shown the door, especially that Palmer....why has he been offered a new deal? He thinks he is better than the club and his attitude leaves a sour taste! Deeney will be a player to watch next year
