The sacking of Jimmy Muddle and Schofield has set the rumour pages going ten to the dozen. However those that predicted Buckley have got it wrong.
The new manager is Chris Hutchings who has only really managed at the top level and of those games his record is poor. However we have to remember that in all cases he has taken over from Paul Jewel when things at the relevant clubs have been in turmoil. He has good contacts and is a well respected number two in the Premeir league, he knows the club and as an ex player knows the fans, I expect he isnt the cheap option which JB has often been accussed of.
His number two is ex Walsall legend Martin OConnor the passionate midfielder has worked hard on his coaching since his Blues days and has a spell as manager at Halesowen. However it is questionable if he has more experience than Schofield, but he is a name which will interest the fans and they will hope he will demand passion and fight from the team something which seemed to fade under Mullen. It is also a case of making a clean break from the Mullen regime.
