'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Walsall and Patrick

Trialist Patrick Suffo impressed in last nights game, on the day when the Darren Byfield rumour died again as he signed for Doncaster. So could the French speaking conection of Zaaboub and Suffo be Walsall's new Boli and Perron....not really they are different types of players but it could be a combination that works.

Patrick has played most of his English football at Championship level. However signs of the Dark side came in his spell at Sheffield United when he was sent off in his part in the battle of Bramell Lane against WBA. A lesson had not been learnt prior to this head butt as he has since served an eight month ban for striking a ref whilst at Nantes previously. A here lies the danager in Patrick, he will score goals but he is a player that lives on the edge.

Wikipedia describes Patricks career as below

Patrick Suffo (born January 17, 1978 in Ebolowa, Cameroon) is a footballer who plays as a striker for Spanish side UD Puertollano.

As of October 2005 he has played 47 international matches for the Cameroon national team, won the gold medal for football at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia and played in the 2002 FIFA World Cup in South Korea and Japan.

He has played in France, England, Spain and the U.A.E. before joining Norwegian team Odd Grenland in 2005. His form immediately helped Odd Grenland climb away from the relegation zone. In October of that year he was supposed to sign a contract with rivals, Vålerenga, but he didn't. During February 2006 he signed a short-term contract with Israeli team Maccabi Petah Tikva but was subsequently released at the end of this period.

At Sheffield United he was told that he had no future with them Suffo was sent to Spanish Second Division side Numancia on loan for the remainder of the season.

But with decent strikers costing money could the Cameroon international be the answer ?
