Walsall another transfer rumour

Walsall another transfer rumour

Bristol Rovers sites have mentioned it and it has appeared on various Saddlers fans lips but is it true. The rumour that Walsall may be moving for Bristol Rovers striker Richard Walker, as the ex Aston Villa man is offered a chance to return to his roots.

Walker who was fantastic in league two, where his 23 goals played a major part in getting the gas into league one, especially the two goals at Wembley in the play off final. In fact his goal at Hartlepool on the last day also help us win the Championship cheers mate!!. However life in league one has been less of a joyous time, as he sat on the bench more times than not, and only hitting the net four times. With his days looking numbered at Rovers, the news that some of the cup run money is been invested in Swansea's Duffy and a young ex premiership reserve striker, things are looking bleak for Richard.

The big question is can he cut it at league one, can he be a 20+ striker again with the right club and a new challenge, or will he be a nearly player and end up been back in league two.

However as with the silly season only time will tell, the possibility has the hallmark of a Walsall deal, but in truth I am not sure the move would really suit player or club, but it depends on who else is available I suppose. A lot of clubs talk to a lot of players and only a few ever turn into moves.
