'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Saint Michael

Many Walsall fans believed the one cap England player would be returning back to the Banks' Stadium once his troubled ankle problem cleared up. But with rumours that Ricketts wanted a two year contract instead of one to the end of the season that was reportedly offered.

Ricketts will do well to earn a contract with the Championship club as his form with the Saddlers during his second spell was up and down. Ricketts told press he was keen to stay in the Midlands but has took up the Saints' offer as his brother/agent was always probing away for a better offer from a Championship club.

Saddlers fans predicted a non return for Ricketts when they brought in Stefan Moore but some still lived in hope, especially after the inflow of cash from the Dann/Fox transfers.
